Disappointed - DVI-HDMI adapter

I read all the reviews, read the description, it turned out to be a lot and good quality. For some reason I ran an HDMI cable to a DVI adapter, plugged it in, and plugged the adapter into my (Dell) computer monitor. However, the laptop does not recognize the connection. (The connection was detected via an HDMI cable to a Silvania Desktop TV (HDMI)). Wanted to use another Dell monitor for better resolution for reading screen etc but no luck. Will have to return. I'm disappointed.

When I stumbled upon this HDMI-DVI I was just blown away by how I turn junk into something I just can.

This my friends works fine. I have a monitor that I wasn't using at the time. When I came across this HDMI to DVI I was just blown away by how I turn junk into something I can play games or watch TV with and the best part is I bought 2 for a great price. I now have one at home for gaming and another at work connected to my Chromecast. Just a wonderful purchase. Everyone should own at least one of these items

Adapters are adequate but poorly constructed

These are standard quality adapters. They do the job they are designed for. The only issue I've encountered is related to the design of the screws that secure the connector to the display device. The screw heads are particularly small, and there are no slots for screwdrivers. So you're forced to either try to screw in the small screws by hand or leave the connection unsecured. You could easily turn screws with regular or Phillips screwdrivers. If you cannot find alternative adapters, of which…

Bi-directional and robust

I have a pair of Acer V226WL (1650 x 1050) monitors that I wanted to connect to my desktop. I have many HDMI cables but only one DVI-D cable. Bought this 2 pack hoping I could make my own cable and it works great. Connect to both ends of a high-speed HDMI v1.4 cable and get crisp, clear images. Also just plugged one in and plugged the other end into an HDMI source and it worked just as well. As others have said it can be very difficult to turn attached thumbscrews but for the price I think it's

Great inexpensive adapter, allows audio

Replacement for an old Cable Matters DVI to HDMI adapter I had a long time ago. The old one was damaged through no fault of the company, I just had it in too small a space. These new ones seem to be more durable and are working very well so far. If your graphics card supports audio over DVI, they will work.
