Works great - built in TV tuner and capture cards

I needed this to live stream from my GoPro using OBS. It seems to work. I bought this device for two reasons. First, it's made by Cable Matters. As a professional musician, I've been using Cable Matters for a while. These are high quality cables and I always pick them first. I wasn't sure how well they would handle this type of device, but that brings me to the second reason. It was one of the few video capture devices available at the time. It didn't hurt that the price was very reasonable. I…

No noticeable lag when gaming on my PC

I followed the guide on Reddit to set up the Switch and received this box instead of a real card. It works great streaming to my display via MPC-BE. I've put Mario Kart, Cadence of Hyrule, Tetris 99, and Smash Bros through some serious testing and there didn't seem to be any lag. This requires a USB3 connection and some software to stream to your uncompressed monitor, so you'll need to use the right software (hence MPC-BE). Not sure about the cost but less than $100 and through Cable Matters…

DOA out of the box on internals

I bought this to replace a MATECam A/V capture box that lasted less than a month and then died. Then it's DOA out of the box. Audio recording works but video recording does not. While the audio recording appears in the audio device chooser, nothing appears in the video device chooser. During the first plug-in (and USB installation) in the Windows window, three devices are reported: audio capture device - video capture device installed - faulty video capture device - installed. When connecting…

Plug and play solution

I use this to connect my DSLR to my work laptop for better zoom meetings and it works exactly as it should. Some camera settings may need to be adjusted, but the capture card just works with no further setup required (no software installation required, so no IT headaches). The included cables and adapters are a nice touch and definitely add to the overall value. The video quality in combination with a DSLR is much higher than traditional webcams and received immediate feedback from team…

Works great on Ubuntu and Mac

I bought this on purpose because it's hard to find USB capture cards that work in Linux, but luckily this one does. Tested with Ubuntu 20.10 on 5.8 kernel. It worked without hiccup on OBS studio. Here's the officially resolutions/formats it supports (per FFMPEG):[video4linux2,v4l2 @ 0x55cc4247c100] Raw : yuyv422 : YUYV 4:2:2 : 1920x1080 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x720 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768 1400x900 1440x900 1920x1080It's Manufacturer VXIS, Inc; and according to device information: new…
