    Cable Matters is a great company but buy better cables

    UPDATED, Cable Matters contacted me and sent replacements. Said it must have been damaged in transit. I am now waiting for a replacement. Swapping cables is much better, but there are still artifacts from time to time. They're good enough for now, but I'll buy a thicker HDMI cable when I convert everything to a new theater. I only needed 1 cable but since there were 3 in the package I decided to upgrade my very old Vizio cable to make everything fit. Now I have glitches and flashes all over the

    I usually try (sometimes unsuccessfully) to only write reviews about things I'm pretty good at, but in this case I'm using them as overkill and a future check. I REALLY want to share my experience. I've never been able to get the HDMI to work properly on my receiver. More precisely, he worked a couple of days, and then the paint in general went away and did not give orders. The TV was convinced that the receiver was not compatible with ARC and vice versa.     2 of 2 cables pass 40 Gbps test

    TLDR: Initially 6 of 6 cables failed diagnostics. I sent all 6 cables back to Cable Matters. Cable Matters sent me 3 new cables free of charge and told me to try again. 2 cables still failed (3rd not checked). I contacted Denon support about my AVR-X4700H receiver and got no help because they said they don't support HDMI diagnostics for end users. Cable Matters sent me videos of testing they did in their lab using an identical Denon receiver and advised me to abruptly power cycle the receiver…
