Eliminates second monitor cable (MBP + ThunderBolt dock)

Great for terminals, good for web browsing, too slow for gaming or video on a 1920x1200 monitor. Connect two external monitors at work - now all I need is +ThunderBolt power on my 2016 MacBook Pro by plugging the integrated ThunderBolt into the dock, then a DisplayPort that handles half the 4k ThunderBolt signal and a the USB 3 ports transmits a smaller monitor on which the terminal mainly runs.

Works great, easy to install

I was skeptical about ordering an adapter but it works great. I'm driving a 1920 x 1024 monitor that only has a display input port from an HP 110-210 desktop that doesn't have a display port. I had to hook up an old VGA monitor until I installed the Cable Matters software and changed the PC display settings. All necessary settings can be found via the Important Cables icon in the system tray next to the time and date in the lower right corner of the screen.

Reliable under load

I connect three monitors via a USB hub/dock, one of which is a "2k" monitor with a resolution of 2560x1600 (Dell U3011). Due to the limitation of the laptop, the hub only displays a 2K monitor in 1080p. As for the adapter, I wanted to use DisplayPort since my (older) monitor only supported higher resolutions on DisplayPort or DVI and DVI was busy. The adapter did its job perfectly! I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on a USB hub, plugged it in and the resolution showed up right away. No jumping…

Excellent value for money

Excellent value for money. I have three 34 inch IPS monitors with a resolution of 3440 x 1440. One is connected to my DP, another is connected via an HDMI to DP adapter cable and this new one is via a USB graphics adapter that I have got here, connected via DP-to-DP. Everything works great and is used for working and playing in the home office. Very easy to install, worked on first try, took less than 5 minutes! Very satisfied!
