I connect three monitors via a USB hub/dock, one of which is a "2k" monitor with a resolution of 2560x1600 (Dell U3011). Due to the limitation of the laptop, the hub only displays a 2K monitor in 1080p. As for the adapter, I wanted to use DisplayPort since my (older) monitor only supported higher resolutions on DisplayPort or DVI and DVI was busy. The adapter did its job perfectly! I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on a USB hub, plugged it in and the resolution showed up right away. No jumping through hoops. I already had the DisplayLink 10 driver on my system and it worked right away with the adapter. The key question on my mind was how the adapter would behave under load - would it still work when I start video sessions and/or share my screen? Does it become unstable if heat builds up for an hour or more? While the device did get warm during use, it never got hot and performance was stable. It's been less than a week for me, but I'm very happy with this first experience.
