Description of Cable Matters Snagless Cat 6 Ethernet Cable 20 Ft (Cat 6 Cable Industrial Electrical for Wiring & Connecting

High Performance Internet cable is Cat6 rated; The Ethernet cord with 24 AWG copper wire provides universal connectivity for LAN network components such as PCs, computer servers, printers, routers, switch boxes, network media players, NAS, VoIP phones, PoE devices, and more. Cat6 performance at a Cat5e price but with higher bandwidth; Future-proof your network for 10-Gigabit Ethernet (backwards compatible with any existing Cat 5 cable network); Meets or exceeds Category 6 performance in compliance with the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standard. A Category 6 Ethernet patch cable is also referred to as a Cat6 network cable, Cat6 cable, Cat6 Ethernet cable, or Cat 6 data/LAN cable. A wired Cat 6 data cable is more reliable and secure than a wireless network or Cat5 cable network for your internet connections. The connectors with gold-plated contacts and strain-relief boots provide durability, and ensure a secure connection; Bare copper conductors enhance cable performance and comply with specifications for communications cables. Flexible and durable RJ45 cable with high bandwidth of up to 550 MHz guarantees high-speed data transfer for server applications, cloud computing, video surveillance, and online high-definition video streaming

Limited to only 100 Mbps

I have had this cable for a few years now. Seemed reliable enough, but I've never tested the speed until now. I can get close to 1Gbps with all my 5e cables, but this supposedly 6 cable delivers about 100Mbps up and down. I definitely can't use it for a fresh start. :(

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Obviously not even Cat5e, at least

I strongly doubt the statement "Cat6 performance at the price of Cat5e but with a higher bandwidth". And in this case it's obvious that either the QC is bad or it's more likely not a Cat6 cable. The cable ran at a maximum speed of 50Mbps and had a lot of buffering issues. Just get a cheap old cat5e from a reliable supplier and go.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Long delivery time

All of this company's ethernet cables are defective

I have invested hundreds in new 4 house cables from this company. All are defective. As the cables heat up with use, the plastic on the connectors begins to expand, making them nearly impossible to pull out of the ports. So I damaged a port on a $1500 Ubiquiti switch trying to unplug one of those cables. Avoid.

Bandwidth reduced by 90%

I replaced my old cable with this one when the connectors broke. Not long after, I noticed that my download speed dropped from 600Mbps to 60Mbps. I blamed Comcast first and asked them to check my internet connection and they quickly determined that the problem was the new cable between my computer and my modem. Of course, I replaced that cable with another manufacturer's CAT 6 cable and my speed went back up to 600Mbps. Poor quality control. Bad product.

  • Nice touch

The most amazing thing is that the cable has resisted 2.

Okay, I've had this product for 2 years now and I can say it's damn durable! I use it for my neighbor who has fiber and wanted to share it with me so the cable is constantly exposed to sunlight, water etc. I live in Puerto Rico. The most amazing thing is that the cable withstood 2 Category 5 hurricanes (Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma)! does not take damage (the cable literally hangs from my roof on his roof). So if you're looking for a good, durable cable, this is it.

Pros
  • Doping 🔥

  • I won't say anything

Good reason for 5 stars

I can't comment on the electrical properties of the cable - although it streams Netflix perfectly from my router to my TV - but the physical properties of the cable are amazing. How many times have you had a cable plug in your modem, router, or other device? The connectors on these cables are of the highest quality. They slide in and out smoothly, but snap securely into place for a quality connection. I paid three times what a well-known national computer retailer did, but the results were…

Easy to insert, difficult to remove

The cable looks solid and provides efficient transmission. However, for family members from seventh grade to grandparents, it is almost impossible to remove the plug unaided. We've plugged the cable into a variety of ports including Smart TV, Xbox, Laptop and Switch, all with the same simple insertion problem but difficult removal problem. We used a Phillips screwdriver to depress the lever deep enough to loosen and remove the connector, but still encountered some difficulty. I have years of…

Good customer service

Cable has been twisted into a coil approximately 26 feet. I noticed this before I started but installed the cable anyway. I knew I only needed about 120-125 feet and decided to take a chance. It worked out fine in the end, but when I needed the full 150ft I ordered it was returned immediately. It's also worth noting that this cable is stranded and not a solid conductor. At this price I was expecting one skein. Just thought I'd share this discovery in case it's important to others. *Update*Cable

Pros
  • Cat6 performance at Cat5e price but with higher throughput; Prepare your network for the future of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (backwards compatible with any existing Cat 5 wired network); Meets or exceeds Category 6 performance per TIA/EIA 568-C.2

Works great and cheap. Very happy.

not I agree. Apparently there is a "Wi-Fi Lag" in his PC games and he had to connect to play at full capacity. Blah blah blah we gave the boy what he wanted because he's a great boy who really believes milliseconds matter. He is very happy and so are we. We hooked this up from our modem downstairs, upstairs in his room, to an old router and used two short ethernet cables for my son's PS4 and gaming computer. He is very happy and we found the cord worked well. It was very helpful to connect the…

Pros
  • Category 6 Ethernet Patch Cord is also known as Cat6 Network Cable, Cat6 Cable, Cat6 Ethernet Cable or Cat6 Data/LAN Cable. A wired Cat 6 data cable is more reliable and secure for your Internet connection than a wireless network or a Cat 5 wired network.

Don't buy them if you use them for video broadcasting!

I have two Cables Matters Cat6 purchased Ethernet cables, 75ft each, and a Cable Matters Active USB 3.0 extension 32ft, I needed them for a theatrical performance to transmit video signals. I tested a 75ft Cat6 ethernet cable with my HDMI transmitter, the signal was lagging and consistently transmitting around 3-5 fps. I switched to another 100ft Cat 5e that was in the theater as a backup, the video signal was smooth and clear. I also tested the USB 3.0 extension with a regular Logitech USB…
