This is a compact USB Micro and SD card reader. It is compatible with both USB 3.0 and USB Type-C. The very compact design makes it easy to take with you on the go. The cord is short and keeps the device close to your laptop/macbook/etc. No issues and does a good job reading my micro SD for photos. I recommend. This is a beautifully made and finished hub and I was very impressed when it arrived. My main use was to use two USB ports at the same time since my laptop only has one USB port. However, after I connected the scanner and mouse to the new hub, my scanner only worked when my mouse was unplugged. And my mouse responded erratically when plugged in and crashed intermittently. I've gone back to using a single USB port on my laptop and am working on this deficiency again.

Great Accessory. Brings 2 extra USB ports and an SD card port which my MacBook White doesn't have which was very useful. Looks and feels good and isn't plastic so looks like it'll last a long time.

I've only used this sporadically for SD cards that stopped working a while ago. Then I started using it to read the micro SD card, did that about 5 times and now that didn't work either, pretty much useless. You get what you pay for.
