Can be configured to use 3 external monitors

Can be configured to use 2 external monitors (with laptop display off) - use it to set up 2 monitors showing different content at the same time (no mirroring) ; a monitor connected to the docking station via the VGA connector; Another monitor is connected to the mini display port of the docking station via this converter. good price too. Updated 4/3/2018: With this adapter you can actually use 3 different monitors at the same time (each with different content; 1 built-in laptop display and 2โ€ฆ

Plug and Play Plugs and Adapters

I recently upgraded my computer and encountered a completely different video output setting. Because of this, I had an issue with the ability to replace the second monitor when working with video and graphics. I also wanted to be able to connect a second monitor to my old PC if needed. Like most DP/HDMI ports on monitors, these connections are not designed to constantly switch between inputs and outputs. The ability to switch between computers with this multi-screen unit also extends the lifeโ€ฆ

The plug and play adapter works well.

I bought two of them - the first did not appear, and the second worked perfectly. I use it to add a (second) display to an overlay tablet - it works well as such. No setup hassle - just plug and play. In my experience you can only run one display per adapter (ie if you want to run two monitors you need two of them). I've also used it with a projector on a windows laptop (during the meeting we had a technical issue with some devices - I took that and a windows laptop - our meeting went withโ€ฆ

Works well but don't expect a great picture.

Bought to connect to a computer in the next room. Not as good as I was hoping - SVGA output resolution/quality isn't very strong and grainy. I used a 20ft SVGA extension. Tried to connect directly to the monitor, same thing. I ended up not using it on my computer monitor as I wanted and bought a 20ft DVI cable and a 20ft HDMI cable for both of my monitors. I saved it so I can connect my 46" TV to my TV's SVGA input. I think the screen is 720 HD so not that bad a resolution, still a bit grainyโ€ฆ

Display port adapter that works SORTA

I have used a few devices of this type and until I bought this one none of them worked. More specifically, this adapter works but has image quality issues on any monitor that uses an HDMI port. This particular adapter works well with the VGA and DVI output ports, but has some issues with the HDMI port. When converting from HDMI, all text and images have a slight "shadow" which makes them appear fuzzy and difficult to focus on text/images. Anything less than a quick look will give you aโ€ฆ
