I can't snap the splitter so there's a risk of it falling out. I've tried this on other phone jacks with the same result. Then I tried another splitter and it clicked fine.

I have two incoming VOIP lines but for some reason they both route through the same phone jack. This allows me to split the lines between two telephone jacks. That works fine.

But if you just bought one and are wondering what you need to do, here's how it works: you need to use a small plastic or small flathead screwdriver to insert each wire into the cap, not the metal pins.
