Follow the instructions and you'll get consistent flares every time.

. every time. This tool is probably more suitable for those who work with the brakes occasionally, although I believe it will last for several years with professional care.

Pros
  • Combines the functions of an integrated torch and a hydraulic torch, making it a lightweight, low profile and easy to use tool.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Works great with Copper Nickel Double Flaring!

After trying an inexpensive double flare tool on site. I searched Amazon and found this! It's hydraulic and doesn't require a lot of cranking pressure to get a good double flash all the time! I replaced all of the brake lines on my 2000 Silverado and making the expanders was the easiest. I can highly recommend this remedy. It's a bit pricey but worth it because the flashes it produces last a long time!

Pros
  • Installation Type: Vehicle specific
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Works better than $20-$30 counterparts, but not perfect

The tool looks very solid, but the clip holding the cord still slips, when trying to make the adjustment. It's definitely better than under $30 tools, giving you a better chance of success. But still not without flaws. I tried doing 2 5/16 double highlights and had to try multiple times to get it to work. I ended up having to use a C-clamp on the die to hold the tube in place and expand it.

Pros
  • Fits in hard-to-reach areas and allows for in-car use
Cons
  • Functionality

Great price for a compact hydraulic flaring tool but has a few drawbacks

I have this brake line flaring tool on my old pickup. Since the old leads have become rusty, I replaced them with good copper-nickel leads. This tool created beautiful double flares in a 3/16" line without the problems with cracking or misalignment that users of cheap non-hydraulic flaring tools experience. I have a few complaints: 1. The dies that clamp around the line, shift slightly when tightened, in which case the forked threads will align where they connect to the hydraulic cylinder…

Pros
  • Makes single, double and bladder flares
Cons
