very good valve operated product mentioned in other comments other buyers said they don't know how to install it you look at the fitting on the side there is an arrow pointing to which one direction it flows

Replacement installation as my 4 year old siphons have rusted and are leaking water. Being spherical inside like these nipples (no rubber), they prevent heat loss and help make the water heater more energy efficient.

If you are ordering this please ensure you are actually receiving the ball style of your order. My order was replaced with a cheaper flapper style and reading other comments 2 out of 4 said they had received the wrong style as well. This error means I have to pay more to buy them locally, which are all made in China, or delay my project for another week while I wait for the correct part to ship.

I received this item on time. Upon inspection, however, I found that they were not spherical heat traps as originally described. Instead, they were "dampener" type heat traps. The real problem is that I am now delaying the installation of my new water heater and having to pay more locally for the right items. All because of the wrong description. I don't understand why it is so difficult to verify the accuracy of an item's description before you put it up for sale! Especially if that inaccuracy

Wrong product received. The product description states that these are "ball valve” type heat traps. Wrong - what I got was flapper style. This product costs more than the flap style so I was disappointed that I paid extra and didn't get what I wanted. To return. Installation instructions are vague. The instructions say "red for hot, blue for cold" but nothing about orientation. There are arrows on each dielectric, but what do the arrows mean? "up" or "flow direction"? Maybe I should have known…
