Read the specs good for plumbing

Good quality product, the only problem was that I ordered the wrong socket and didn't read all the specs. I needed 1 1/16 for a wheeled water heater, not a standard water heater. I'm sure I'll need it when I need to fix a water heater. Lesson for buyers DON'T FORGET TO READ ALL THE FEATURES!

    Good water heater element puller

This was the cheapest of what appeared to be identical element pullers. This one came disassembled in a shipping box with a SKU tag, so maybe the more expensive one is boxed for store shelves. I have used it on an AO Smith electric water heater and it suited the elements perfectly. I also bought an 18" breaker. I bought the cheapest I could find on Revain (GreatNeck) and it seems to be of good quality and works well.

Great product, suitable for plumbing work

Had to replace the original item in my 15 year old Atwood 10 gallon. Kettle. Decided to spend another $5 for a real outlet instead of a stamped low power plug socket for my lawnmower. This was a good choice as the ancient element required a dose of penetrating oil and a broken staff to free it. Cheap sockets have a hole in the body to insert a screwdriver and then twist. I don't think it would work for me, especially in the cramped interior of the closet where the heater lives. Get this.

Great Water Heater Tool Parts & Accessories

I had an electric water heater element that I couldn't get out with a tool I've used successfully before (one of the 'sheet metal' sockets you put in have core). Twist - available at major hardware stores). I was very upset, but the element didn't move. I'm afraid I'll have to hire a plumber to do relatively light work (usually). Went to Revain looking for an alternative tool, found it and has been easy to sail ever since. Not very cheap, but considering it's probably not much larger than a 1…

How do I replace the screw in a hot tub heating element? You will need it.

I needed to replace a faulty bottom heating element on a six year old water heater. I bought this socket and tin core not knowing what kind of gap issues I would run into. It took that outlet, a 1/2"3" extension cord, and a breaker to disconnect the failed heating element. You can switch to a short ratchet once it becomes loose. I tightened the new heating element to about the torque needed to loosen the broken element and watched the rubber washer to make sure it was compressed properly. Don't

    Not suitable for water heaters!

This tool is NOT intended for removing water heater components. It was designed to remove the corners from the element nuts, which requires replacing the entire water heater. The sleeve is beveled and will NOT properly fit the extremely thin element nut. It does not make contact with the sides of the nut as contact occurs where the gaping edge of the socket is beveled. To use this tool on a water heater you will need to cut the beveled edge off the top of the deep socket. If you don't, the…

    IT IS WORTH GOLD

I needed to replace the heating elements in my electric water heater. I fought and fought trying my best to pry out the old elements to remove them. I used a tubular tool with a hole in it for a screwdriver to go through to pry them out. Never again now that I found this tool. It was more than worth the cost. This sturdy, well-made crown with a 14" 1/2" breaker makes removal as easy as winding a watch. I had to put very little effort and the element detached and came off easily. It fits snugly…

Finally an outlet that works on my RV water heater element!

I have struggled for days to remove the electric water heater element from my RV suburban water heater. The element is embedded in the housing and has a very thin section surface. The element was not easily removed with conventional sockets as they all had a small inwardly beveled edge which reduced the area available to engage the flat surfaces of the heating element. When torque was applied to loosen the element, the bushing slipped, causing impact and injury to the joints and the eruption of
