Camco 20136 Brass Quick Disconnect Review

Solid Brass! That's all I asked for and that's what I got. I'm tired of cutting hoses and fitting new ends because the aluminum versions of this item are constantly welded to the end of the hose due to corrosion. Also, the aluminum ones get clogged with debris, making them difficult to lock in place. Read the fine print on others if you want to avoid aluminum, and go with them if you want something that won't turn to pulp in a few years.

I recently switched to brass fittings and just needed more to make multiple hose and tool connections. ALL the old plastic bottles broke or leaked after a year or two, which I consider a glitch. NOT those brass fittings. The only problem I have is that in the winter when I remove the hoses and nozzles it can be difficult to reconnect. I don't know if the camps are frozen or something. Personally, I wouldn't buy it again. I bought these 3 years ago, they have a spring loaded brass check valve inside that prevents back splashing or open water flow even after shut off. low, they will not block water flow after power off. They contain no spring loading, allowing water to continue to flow freely once disconnected. I can shake the fitting and hit something and that can help loosen the valve with the knock. I really liked the previous spring style. But not this one. Sorry Kamko.

This is brass. They are reported to be safe for drinking water. In addition, this set offers a quick disconnect connection with automatic disconnection. That's why I bought this set. The female end still works well and accepts standard thick brass Gilmour, Nelson and Dramm forks (which are still made in the USA) as well as some unnamed heavy brass forks made in China.
