Having cut my feet on other decking fixings (nails and screws) as a kid, I liked the idea of a hidden fixing system that made it easy to remove individual boards into the future. With other fastening systems I've seen, you'd have to grab a lot of boards to get to the damaged one, but this method of pushing the screws into a small gap seems to work beautifully.
