Not optimal for crankshaft pulleys

The reason I bought this tool is I can't find my other one and this one doesn't fit, I think it's 19mm instead of 50mm. wrong, but until I find another one, I'll know.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Frequency

Slightly tight on engines and engine parts

Used when changing the timing belt on my '98 Accord. The fit was too tight so I had to sand down the edges of the paint and hammer it in with a hammer. Did my job differently but it shouldn't have been that hard to use.

  • Very impressive

It's cheap and it WORKS

You can pay more for a better finish, but only if you don't use the tool every day. That's what you get. Just changed the timing belt on a 2007 Honda Odyssey and it was absolutely necessary to tighten the harmonic balancer. Tricked and used Punch to bring it down.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Available in white only

Requires a few clicks

Cheap but works Square shank for the crowbar slightly damaged but still 100% usable. I had a friend stand on a 2 foot breaker connected to a crank pin. He probably weighs about 160 pounds, and he had to jump on it. And this tool was held on a crowbar that was pushed to the ground. The bumper cover must be removed.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

It wasn't my favorite instrument.

I bought this for my 2006 Honda Pilot so I had the right car for this tool. He just didn't come close, not even close. After a few hits with a hammer, I realized that even that wouldn't help. I ended up having to sand 4 sides out of 6 and after that everything worked like clockwork. Looking at this tool I could see that the wall thickness was not even remotely constant around the hex. So overall it finally worked, but it was a little frustrating.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance
