Needles: Wax

Needle pierces at about 135 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm trying to heat the wax to 185. This thermometer has never read above 160, 162 degrees. I have to guess what the temperature is afterwards.

Great response from seller.

This thermometer has served me well - so convenient, easy and safe to use. It helped me a lot with baking, although it's actually intended for making candles. This is my first deal with S. Brannan and Sons and I am very pleased with their prompt service. I just want all sellers to be as professional as they are.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Annoying

Not working

I bought this to make candles. I've used it twice and both times it stopped at 165 degrees. Then it drops to 140 degrees. Back to 165 degrees. Did it several times. Measured again after pouring my Presto pot and it showed 220 degrees. Those of you who make candles know that this is not good. It was past the return date so I just threw it away and bought another one.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Boiling water not 180F last time I checked

For the rest of my life I couldn't heat my wax above 160F using the steam method. I cleaned the thermometer and submerged it in boiling water and the meter didn't get past 185F. It jumped back and forth between 180 and 185°F but never reached 200°F. If it's around 40 degrees I'm probably adding my fragrance oil at 200F which is the flash point and wondering why I'm not getting a decent hot toss. 😡

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Very far away

I use digital probes to make candles but since the wires always get tangled I thought this would be a fantastic probe. I tried one of each and thought they would be awesome if I didn't have a digital sensor to test with. I'd be excited and happy because it looks like it's working, but if you compare it to a digital meter which I know to be accurate, those analog meters I've used are terrible, sometimes discrepancies from 30 to 40 degrees. I've found them to get stuck in a certain spot, and even

Pros
