Very impressed - Great knives at a good price

I am really impressed with this set of 6 knives. For the money, the knives are sharp and feel good in the hand. One comment I will make is that the grip style means that a left-handed person (like me) will have a slightly more uncomfortable grip than a right-handed person. That being said, this is the perfect knife set for someone just starting out around the home.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Not the best

Best knife set for the price!

I love these knives, I've studied so much about knives and finally settled on them. My wife and I are very happy with them, they are ready to use. The weight and the feel in the hand are perfect, you can feel the quality. The only negative about them is that the block is really high but after reading 100 reviews I already knew what it was going to be. I think I'll buy them a magnetic stripe. But as for the knives, this is the best kitchen knife set I've ever had.

Massive disappointment.

I bought a year ago for my wife to replace our other set of knives. We used to have a relatively expensive set and they cost a lot more than them. I thought the quality was good given the reviews but I was wrong. The block of wood isn't real wood, it has a laminated finish which really annoyed me considering it was advertised as real wood. Blades don't hold a sharp edge. I have to keep sharpening them. I can get them razor sharp and after a few weeks of normal use I sharpen them again. We wash…

Extremely sharp, serious blades that are pleasant to the touch

They are solid in the hand. Be careful not to drop them as they will send you to the doctor for stitches. These are serious tools with a big advantage. I've been using mine for about 10 weeks and haven't had to sharpen it once (I use a heavy duty large knife on a wooden cutting board several times a day). I've seen people complain in the comments about the steel on their knives getting stained. All I can say is wash and dry them after use and there shouldn't be a problem. I can assume that…

Rare Cangshan Clunker:

I am a huge Cangshan fan and have reviewed several of his excellent kitchen knives. My wife and I strive to use only the finest kitchenware, but we're never a snob about it. We have two ready made knife blocks featuring many of the best names in cutlery. Since I've been to China several times, I also know that the Chinese are currently counterfeiting the best quality, which is now meeting the best of the best from Japan and Germany. The first Cangshan dishes I bought were steaks from this…

Phenomenal blades at any price

Mainly a review of chef and santoku knives. The rest is hardly used. After being a chef for 20 years before leaving the industry with a bad taste in my mouth, I invested my millions of dollars in accumulated professional tools and focused on creating home cooking without wanting relics from a violent past. Look at me. After searching for a quality HOME knife set, I chose Cangshan for its perceived value. I cook and practice these things almost every day, so this will be a test to see how they…

Excellent value for money, not available in stores

Excellent quality, very satisfied! The knives are very sharp, be careful! The blade and handle are somewhat balanced, much better than any other knife in this price range and especially compared to anything found at Target etc. The surface is clean, smooth and solid with no blemishes. The Y2 handle is asymmetrical and comfortable despite being specifically designed for right-handed chefs. My wife is left-handed and can use knives occasionally, but it should be noted that I cook most of the…
