Amazing tension control

I've bought so many different types of DR clamps and these are the best I've ever used. Kokanee or Kings of the Ocean, it works!

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Compatibility

KAME-APART for men

I'm a bit disappointed. The cable tie comes loose after 3-4 fish bites. That leaves the cable. The release clamp ends at the bottom of Lake Superior. This has happened three times in the last 30 days. Tension is difficult to understand. I use 2 to 4 clicks depending on the trolling speed and the resistance of the spoon and bait. Larger salmon and lake trout are able to free the line in most cases.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Good - not my favorite

I like the way these pads hold the line, it's very rare (if ever?) when fishing for lake trout in New Hampshire to get a wrong line or none at all tripping occurs. However, I really don't like how these releases are "locked up" in the back. I really wish they were spring loaded.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Negative impression

I couldn't reach her, so I quit.

To be fair I've used them to catch Kokanie which is a tricky downrigger fish because they have to hold on until the lightest pull comes. I spent the day either reinstalling lines that had previously popped out or retrieving drowned fish because the clip had never popped out. I also cut myself several times on the sharp edges of the cable. Switched to Scotty's miniclips and will definitely never use anything else again.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Almost never

not working - clothing

Must have been defective. The adjustment knob can only be turned with pliers. If you twist the handle with pliers, it just twists the other way and doesn't do anything. Doesn't click when turning. Locked up.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Only available in white

Good quality and hard wearing

Used to replace the original parts that came with my Cannon Down Rigger. Works perfectly! The original got to a place where it wouldn't have held up in the queue.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Some trouble

Doesn't seem user friendly. I will use it on my drone.

I bought this clip to use on my DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone. The clamp tensioner knob is not easy to adjust. I have to use a nickel or a penny to turn the knob. Trying to get constant tension on your line is difficult to accomplish. I've found that depending on where you place your leash in the rubber pads, the release of the leash depends on that. You then have a 3-click position on the handle to create tension to deal with. Again this isn't user friendly but I'll stick with it and hopefully…

Difficult to attach good for t-shirts

This clip is difficult to use, especially in cold weather. Much better than the Cannon Offshore Release, spring loaded and confident. Cannon was not supposed to include a Uni-Line version when purchasing a DR, which forced me to upgrade after purchasing. Then I tried their Quick Release (disc tension) and Pinch-R, didn't like it either. Finally found the clip (most expensive @ $18) offshore release. I really hope Cannon reads this and helps me upload other clips that need to be put back on the…
