Wanted to buy this charger to charge batteries for my canon camcorder, not from the camera itself to charge it (this charger doesn't come with some canon camcorders). This will charge them MUCH faster than the camera. This is an OEM charger so you don't have to worry about it being aftermarket and not working. The CG-800 charger is a great accessory. I use this to charge batteries for my VIXIA HF200. The HF200 comes with a BP-809 battery, which isn't really long enough to record long events, so most people will go with a different battery, probably a BP-819 or BP-827.
