📸 Canon EF-S 18-55 f/4-5.6 IS STM: Versatile Lens for Crisp Images Review

This is Canon's refurbished aps-c kit lens which, when used properly, will give you better images than you think even though it's a 'kit lens'. However, see how many people can use just this lens and send great photos.

Bought for a trip to Washington DC and it has held up with no problems. The stepper motor was as fast and quiet as ever, and even with constant knocks and bumps this lens still performed like new despite being a used lens.

I have a pair of Canon lenses - 24mm and 10-18mm, they are good but I needed something that could give me more range and depth. I read some reviews about it and decided to give it a try. This is simply a high quality lens. In fact, I've used it more times than I thought it would, simply because of the depth of field it gives me. It's worth investing in a lens case.

I called Canon USA to check and after a quick check they confirmed that the lens is equipped with the latest firmware 1.0.1 and 1.1.3 on the body does not support all 65 AF points at F4 that the camera can afford. At F4 only 45 AF points are supported, of which only the middle group of 25 cross AF points and the outer 10 on each side are vertical or horizontal only. This is the main limitation of this lens.
