You have to be patient every time

I rarely write reviews but I am so disappointed with this printer that I want to give as much warning as possible to others. Every time I try to print I have to unplug the printer and restart my computer. This is annoying, time-consuming and unnecessary. I bought this printer on the recommendation of my brother - he is very knowledgeable about printers and tech - but I will never buy a Canon machine again.

Pros
  • I look forward to it
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

It uses the same type of cartridge as my previous printer.

I had just ordered and received three black ink cartridges and two color ink cartridges when my previous printer broke. I thought I ordered the same model but got the TR4527 which I really like. This model is better than TR4520. The TR4527 uses the same type of ink cartridge as my previous printer. It accepts paper, whether multipurpose paper or carbon paper. The print quality is good. Haven't printed any photos yet. The TR4527 prints one less step for faster printing (compared to the TR4520)…

  • An absolute legend

Difficult to set up Best in office electronics

I have been using a Canon Pixma printer for over 10 years. Bought a new model when the old one wore out. Setup was a nightmare - instead of 5 minutes it took HOURS of phone calls and trial and error before I was able to successfully connect it to our laptops. I don't like the paper tray at the bottom. The old man ate from behind. If the paper tray is bumped or moved in any way, the paper will not feed until you play with it for a while. Of course, this is not an improvement over the old model…

The ink is expensive and good for office electronics

I've always bought gun printers because the ink is pretty cheap. Mostly I test it before buying, not this time (my bad). The printer works very well and is easy to install. The only thing I didn't like was that the display is so small and dim and that ink replacement costs more than I've paid in the past.

Pros
  • I hold my fists

  • Appearance

Nice but very thin

Bought this for a low price so not too much skin off my back. However, it consumes a lot of ink, very thin print. If the paper deviates for a millisecond, it is jammed. I'm good at fixing these things, but it might discourage someone else. The plastic is very soft. You can easily break it by moving it. You can find a better printer elsewhere and I love Canon.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Great price

It took a LONG time to connect to Wi-Fi

I'm only writing this review for the easy connection with my new fiber optic cable. It was terrible! It took hours and hours to get the job done. Eventually, we realized that every time I wanted to print, I had to switch networks—from my Wi-Fi network TO the printer's network. When you're done, change it BACK to a Wi-Fi network. That's a lot of extra steps just to be able to print. Before I got fiber optic cable, I would just press print on my iPhone or iPad and it would print. However, my 4…

DO NOT BUY, GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY

READ THE FEEDBACK! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS RIFLE. SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND SWITCH TO ANOTHER COMPANY. Okay, first of all I'm not that tech savvy but I wish the manual was more helpful. You have to download an app on your phone, which isn't very useful either. The setting is fine. But if you have a problem, they won't help you. THE PAPER IS CONSTANTLY DEADLINE. I managed to get the first 3 sheets out but now it's jammed paper I just can't reach. And the fax is annoying too! It doesn't…

  • Office Supplies
Cons
  • Expensive

Has trouble on a home network where multiple computers need to scan

This is on a home network. All computers can print without problems. However, when scanning, only the computer to which the printer was first connected can scan properly. Other computers "don't even see the printer/scanner" unless some software is disabled and not sure if it even works. This is without a doubt a software nightmare. Did anyone at CANON think it would be a good idea to send packets to a scanner to see if they're available? Because the source computer is busy sending packets…

Pros
  • Printers and supplies
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
