Robust but not perfect

This is my second Canon Powershot SD camera. I bought the original S400 in 2003 and loved it. It has better specs and more features, but surprisingly the picture quality isn't much better than my old one. Although the picture quality was always very good. but it's not exactly DSLR-level (I have a Nikon D40 for comparison). There are some things I don't like about this camera. Many options are buried too deep in the menu system and require too many finger clicks to access. Even the simpleโ€ฆ

Canon 850IS in Photo & Photo

I've had this camera for four months now and I'm very satisfied. I used to have a Sony W5 which was a great camera, fast (point and shoot) and ran on AA batteries. I then bought a Nikon L5 and was very disappointed in its ability to focus quickly in low light and very slow shot-to-shot times. I used the 850's predecessor, the 700, and was impressed with the speed of most functions compared to the Sony and Nikon. I was wary of proprietary batteries, so I bought an extra battery when I bought the

Nice little compact camera

This is a good compact camera with lots of bells and whistles. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and takes good photos. I've had this camera for about 2 months and have had time to experiment with it a bit. Camera Features and Specifications: This camera has many software modes that can be used without changing camera input variables such as aperture or shutter speed. as well as Iso. This makes it easy for anyone to use and the program modes really work. With the given settings theโ€ฆ

Canon Powershot SD850 vs Old S500

This review is a comparison between the newer Canon Powershot SD850 IS and the older Powershot S500: which I bought 4 years ago. Added SD850 face detection, 8MP camera instead of 5MP, image stabilization, max ISO 1600 instead of 400 ISO, DIGIC III image processing, multiple scene adjustments and many screen/menu additions. the quality of the original photo. I have to admit I'm really disappointed that I can shoot with both the 4 year old S500 and the SD850 IS. However, the S500 was a prettyโ€ฆ

Powershot powerful and amazing

With over 300 reviews on this product I will not restate what has been said over 300 times. I bought this camera for my wife whose previous camera died. To put it mildly, her cousin accidentally hit him with her elbow, knocking him onto the concrete sidewalk. Both the camera and the memory card died. It was HP 735 (2.3 megapixels). I found out the price and as always I am reviewing Revain. (Unfortunately they are now collecting taxes because the New York state legislature wanted their hands inโ€ฆ
