included I bought the Rebel XS as my first entry into the "DSLR" world on the advice of a friend. I couldn't be happier! This camera does everything (and more) a novice photographer needs, and the image quality is well above what I got with my Nikon 8mp Point and Shoot. I've probably taken several hundred shots and still haven't had to charge the battery. In a word, this camera is "amazing". My next purchase is a 35mm or 50mm prime lens. Scott

I really wanted to get into photography but didn't have a big budget for it, so I bought this camera with high hopes on the recommendation of a photographer friend. This is fantastic. The first few weeks I had it, I took it everywhere with me. It takes sharp and clear pictures, and since it doesn't record videos, the battery seems to last forever! Yes, it's not a high-end camera with all the bells and whistles, but a great entry-level camera for anyone wanting to get into photography.

I bought a camera body to replace a broken EOS Rebel. WOW, what a great camera. I connected the battery, inserted the chip, pressed the lens and started taking great photos. I went on vacation a few days after delivery so it had to work right away. I took wide-angle sunset photos at the airport, out the plane window, and the Rocky Mountains upon landing. I'm a big fan of the Canon Rebel XS. This is the first DSLR I've ever owned. I first bought one for my parents; After using it, I liked it so much that I bought one. In the end I only bought the body because I wanted to try other lenses. I have a Canon f1.8/50mm lens and a Tamron 17-55mm/f2.8 lens. Both lenses are good enough to take normal photos of any kind. The build quality is excellent. It's solidly built and seems capable of handling a lot of rough handling. Obviously use common sense…
