Paper a little thin

I like the feel of the paper but thought it would be stronger. I have used a lighter weight Strathmore that can handle a lot more. Before I had time to apply several coats of colored pencil, I lifted off a little color with scotch tape. I just erased it and I've done it with other paper with no problems. It broke immediately and nearly ruined the drawing. I just tested the paper but it definitely looks like it's going to be used for drawing or graphite instead.

Very good medium weight paper for pencils and colored pencils. I think it's about heavy weight, but I don't think it's for me. It's 111 pounds of paper. I wouldn't use water-soluble pencils either, but I really like the texture. I think this is going to be one of my favorite pens as I love the texture of the paper. I don't like smooth parchment as I do a lot of layers and eventually smooth paper just won't take the pen after a few layers. I'm also looking for a fluffy paper that feels like…

Paper and Tools

I hate buying paper online for my drawings. I like being able to hold it and feel the paper; explore it like a monkey explores a banana; see its color. All of this is important in determining if this paper is right for you. BUT. I put my name on the Canson paper - it's a fantastic paper. FOR PEOPLE WHO BUY BUT DON'T KNOW PAPER: I don't know about pastel paper, charcoal (not my best medium), watercolor etc. but I do know graphite or colored pencils for drawing portraits.
