Nice quality shoes but ridiculously tight!

Good shoes, good quality but very narrow and this is a medium size. My daughter is small and doesn't have particularly wide legs. At 23 months she only wears normal shoes in size 5 or 5.5, the "W" (wide) shoes are too big for her. too tight and snuggly, i don't want to swing her legs. She goes to dance classes just for fun and as babies feet develop, tight shoes are detrimental to normal foot growth/development. They don't offer a size 6 wide so I had to downsize to a 6.5. Still ridiculously…

Studio Owner's Opinion

I am a dance studio owner and mother of a five year old tap dancer. The reason I chose the Capezio over the Bloch tap shoes is the sock shape. My daughter's toes are straighter from thumb to pinky meaning they don't taper diagonally much. She doesn't have wide feet, but her Bloch shoes are curved at her toes in a way that pinches her fourth and little pinky fingers. Capezio's tap shoe is more rounded in the toe area, allowing more clearance for toes that are more angular or don't taper…

Pros
  • Dance
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Everything you need in a crane shoe!

These shoes are perfect! We have a second set of shoes. Capezio is a reliable brand that I trust (I was a dancer for 10 years). These are high quality shoes that will stand up to your throbbing toddler. I love that there is an elastic band to keep the shoe on the foot, not just a band to hold on to. You don't even have to use a ribbon if you want, but it looks prettier that way. I bought one size larger than my daughter wears. For example, my daughter wears regular size 8 shoes (Carters, Cat &…

DO NOT follow the Capezio size chart!

I'm very angry now! On Friday I found out that my 3 year old daughter is on the waiting list for ballet and tap classes starting tomorrow. I ordered them on Friday using Capezio's size chart. My daughter wears an 8 US and the chart says to order a 7. OK, the diagram is WRONG. These shoes are NOT equal to 8 US. You are too small! I should have ordered 8! I'm so pissed. I have no way of getting another order for your lesson. I'm having trouble figuring out where to go locally to get what I need…

These tap shoes are perfect! We have a second set of shoes. Capezio is a reliable brand that I trust (I was a dancer for 10 years). Support your pounding baby. I love that there is a piece of rubber to hold the shoe in place instead of just a band to hold on to. You don't even have to use a ribbon if you want, but it looks prettier that way. Bought a full size larger than what my daughter wears. For example my daughter wears a size 8 in regular shoes (Carters, Cat & Jack) and I bought a size 9…
