🔧 Pentair Pentek Captain Ring Replacement Review

At first I laughed at the claim of a superior o-ring. However, immediately after using it, it became clear that this o-ring is better than others I have purchased. First, it fits great (doesn't slip, fly off, or all the other annoying stuff). Second, it didn't arrive folded, so it didn't have a crease (so it wasn't difficult to install without popping out of our other clutter). Third, it seems really well made. So you can see that Captain O-Ring makes the best O-Rings.

This o-ring is 5.5" ID and 0.166" thick and fits an older model Hawkins pressure cooker. I couldn't find an OEM Revain o-ring replacement (they offer 2-3/4" outer rings for the newer Hawkins pressure cooker that don't fit). I ordered a water filter ring for the whole house and it was necessary to replace the old ring. I had a small drip from the Big Blue water filter. No big deal, just a small drop. I bought these o-rings and they were the perfect size. It fits my Big O perfectly. I didn't realize how much the old o-ring had stretched and loosened. I mounted a new O-ring on the filter and it fits 100%. I put the base back and dried the case.
