doesn't last. in parts

This is very difficult to install if you are not already familiar with the process. After some trial and error I finally got it to idle. It was only a year before I went back to the factory carburetor. I restored the factory carburettor and everything is fine again. Don't throw away the OEM carburetor.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Direct replacement for my 2008 Grizzly 660

For the price this is the best carburetor replacement option for several Yamaha models. I had some doubts after reading some of the reviews. I can attest that this carb works great for my grizzly. I've been using this carb for a few months now and use my quad regularly.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Put this on my 660 Griz, the original was so taped together I couldn't restore it to make it work. This carburetor worked right out of the box. I'm at 4000 feet and it had a 145 jet engine (just what I needed for that altitude). It also came with 150 and 155 for the bottom end. Keep your jets on when riding at this altitude. I actually had to reverse the air (4 turns came), I set it to 2 1/2 to make it work perfectly.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Mixture screw with cap - warning when removed

Carburetor looks great and I have had great results with these carburetors in the past. In this case, the Grizzly 660 with this carburetor did not idle well and needed a minor mixture adjustment. The mixture setting was covered with a brass plug and I managed to break and ruin the carburetor by trying to pull the brass plug out. It turns out that the cork is screwed in, not pressed in! Now carbs are garbage. With so many uses for a carburetor fitting, it would be a good idea to have unlimited…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibrations
Cons
  • Non automatic

Didn't work on my Grizzly 660 2003

gas didn't matter. Further backfire through the carburetor. Got him on the road but cold start and constant worry if he will die. Yes, I changed the injectors that came with it. No difference. I had time so I bought gum and cleaned the old one. It was very dirty which was the reason for a new one. I took a risk and it didn't work. The cleaned carburetor worked great. I used new gaskets. I only write this for others. The flush you hear is my $48 flowing down the toilet.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • repair

For the money it was worth the chance.

For the money it was worth the chance; and so far this game has been golden. I have a 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660. One of the local dealerships here in Arizona wanted $600 for a new carburetor. Here at Revain, it cost $58 with free shipping, which made my decision a no-brainer. I'm not a professional mechanic and using the Clymer manual made this installation relatively easy. The preinstalled vaporizers seem to do Arizona well. I didn't have to adjust the carburettor after installing it, the idle…

Don't waste your time and money

I've reached the maximum air/fuel ratio and it's still running a bit lean. There is no main jet needle adjustment. I may have to figure out how to route it. ***Update 08/13/20*** I had to take it to the shop to help tune the carburetor. Because it just never ran right out of the box. He was very sensitive to temperature. They also told me to bring the original in case they needed to borrow parts as aftermarket carburetors usually don't have all the necessary adjustments. They removed the…

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Some problems

Cheaper than a repair kit, great value

Fit this carburetor on my 2003 Yamaha 660 Grizzly. Along with the old Mikuni, this Chinese copy actually had a better cast finish. Some of the internals aren't that reliable, but you really need to take a closer look. New Mikunis cost between $300 and $500. I don't ride my ATV as much as I used to, so the seat is taking its toll. This is the second aftermarket carburetor I have installed on the car. The first served 7 years with breaks for several months at a time. To be perfectly honest, the…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
