The carburettor is OK, the cable is unusable.

Carb works well. Unfortunately, the supplied cable does not match the picture. Many CT70s require the end of the cable that terminates at the manual throttle to be threaded on the end. The supplied cable has no threaded part as shown in the picture. The cable is unusable for my application.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive

Didn't work on my 1971 Honda CT70

I thought I would replace the carburetor on my CT70 that this item was advertised for. Once on the bike, it revved at high revs and would not be slowed down by any of the adjustment screws. The item was returned with no problems. I don't know if I just have a bad carburetor or if they are all like that.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Zero

Don't buy this. Spare parts

Don't buy these cheap carbs. Seals wear out within a few weeks of use. Once fuel hits them, they expand and don't close. The fuel shut-off valve is difficult to open and close, and the bowl drain plug leaked right out of the box. If you're buying a replacement carburetor, spend a few bucks more and get a decent one from CHP or TBpart. .

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Well done but better in the fuel system

This was a perfect physical match for the old carburetor on my Honda CT-70 BUT the main jet size wasn't right. I ended up using these carburetor parts to repair my old HONDA carburetor. It was a lot cheaper than trying to order them from Honda (if they even have them). The main jet engine had to be 1-2 sizes larger to run on low power California (bio)fuel. The bike would choke at full power unless the choke was partially closed. Satisfied with the acquisition costs only at the residual value of

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Almost OK

Thanks, works fine -

Reviving my dad's 1970 CT70H, fitted the carburettor with no problems. The choke lever is upside down compared to the original, but that doesn't really bother me. The bowl drain plug seems to be stuck, but again, no big deal. Fired it up immediately with fresh fuel lines and a new coil. It just took a little tweaking to get it to idle and work well. Also, the throttle cable seems to be too long. He bought a new bike when he was 12 and was so happy to take that first ride again.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Not everything fits
