Description of Cardone 20 7238 Remanufactured Domestic Steering

As a remanufactured Original Equipment part, this unit guarantees a perfect vehicle fit. All critical components (cam packs, spool valves, etc.) are triple-tested to ensure product reliability; Units are supplied with 100% tested and calibrated pressure relief valves. All units are built with 100% new O-rings and premium-grade HNBR seals to prevent leaks; HNBR does not break down at high temperatures like conventional seal material. Shafts are surfaced to precise specifications to eliminate premature seal wear and extend pump life; Final pump assembly is computer-tested to measure pressure, bypass, fluid flow, valve operation, steering effort and noise to ensure reliable performance. Our remanufacturing process is earth-friendly, as it reduces the energy and raw material needed to make a new part by 80%.

economical and usable

Nothing here but the power steering pump which was clean inside and out worked well from the start. I've been driving the car for 2 weeks now with no problems. Update after 1.5 years. This pump works fine. Strong, no problem.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some faults

Garbage! Avoid. for parts

Those Cardone pumps are a joke. I read the reviews and realized it was worth the risk. DO NOT DO IT! My pump even started squeaking a day after installation. And yes, I used the recommended Mercon V and completely bled the system. The pump I replaced was also a Reman pump, but for some reason this Cardone pump is even worse. It can hardly spin standard tires at low speeds. Looks like they'll just repaint the cores and put them in boxes to ship back. "Rebuilt" my a$$.

Pros
  • This is amazing

No more oar howling!

No problem with this part on my 2001 F350. It's a bit of work but doable for the DIY guy. Find the right pulley puller! I removed the entire pump mount and started removing the pulley with a standard 3 jaw puller, got lucky and noticed I started bending the outer edge of the pulley with the puller. I went and hired the right puller and finished the job. The pump works great and eliminates that annoying Ford steering noise!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Fine

Not one of the lucky few, this pump didn't work

After swapping out the pump and lines on my Powerstroke I'm going to do it again. The pump never came out of the store until it howled louder than the 7.3 gasp. Drained the liquid completely, fresh Mercon V plastics, and spent an hour purging the system of air. The wheels lifted off the ground and moved slowly from lock to lock twenty times. Then he led the return from the hydraulic booster to the pallet. After four liters of liquid it howls so loud. Support says I should maybe evacuate the…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
