1998 Jeep Wrangler 4.0

Installed on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L to replace (and upgrade) the original pump that failed at the output shaft seal after 20 years. Installation was easy and the pump works as it should.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Upgrade Available

3 turns to latch instead of 3 1/2 turns

Just installed and it's a 3 turn latch for all the Jeepers out there. A 3 1/2 lock from lock to lock is what most of us are looking for. The rest is solid. Appears with closed ports.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Great price

Excellent price. Looks great right away

Screwed to my TJ without any problems. Excellent price. Looks great straight away, nice finish, new seals, looks like new. Installed and works great. Feels tight and gives a bit more power to turn my 35" tires. I'll update if I encounter problems, but I don't expect them.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

XJ upgrade good for the steering system

I installed this on my Jeep Cherokee. Matches the finish well, doesn't leak and has more torque than the original. I used this gear and ruff "cure" to give the steering a new feel. Suitable for a '92 Cherokee with 6" lift kit and 33" tires. You have to remember to fix the factory tie rod issues to get that new feel.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • So so

Dangerous Backlash in Steering Gear

This steering gear had such a large backlash that it was very dangerous when cornering at high speed. It took about 20 degrees of steering wheel travel to "stick" and then the car started spinning the wheels. A complete pain in the ass, to change this again I had to listen to other reviews.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • New Competitors Appeared

Direct replacement/upgrade for my 1997 Jeep XJ. Not me.

Direct replacement/upgrade for my 1997 Jeep XJ. I didn't notice any loss in turning radius, and the included crank was identical to the stock Jeep linkage. "Refurbished" steering box as it should have lasted longer than I thought it would.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Had to wait for fitment, bought new hoses and when I finally did it all went well except the steering wheel was a bit sloppy when turning right. I took it to align and was told this was not possible as there was too much play in the box. They said that if they tried, my steering wheel would rotate almost 180 degrees. Contacted A1 Cardone who told me I had to go through Revain to get it back. Do not you know that? There is no return this item button so now I have to call Revain to ask for a…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Contact seller
