Although it should be a 1998 Ford.

Although it was supposed to be on the 1998 Ford Ranger 4WD, it didn't fit. The shape of the clutch didn't fit, so I couldn't mount it.

    First activation error

Plugged in, truck started, stopped, shifted into neutral, knob turned to low 4, heard loud clunk and refused to return to high 2. Unsuccessful first activation. Garbage.

Ok but I had to recreate the restored

4x4 did not work. Changed it and now it is like this. Unfortunately I had to further disassemble the new and the old one. The triangular slot wasn't big enough for the rack on the gearbox, so it didn't fit. I had to use the whole body from the old one with a new motor from the new one. A 15 minute job turned into a 2 hour job. Another thing is that it was good

Repairing my broken 4 wheel drive transfer case components

I was out hunting and couldn't get the 4 wheel drive out of my 01 Sport Trac. I did some research and found out that the problem was probably my shift motor as I was still hearing a clicking noise from the passenger side panel. After removing the existing one and converting it to 2WD manually and rebuilding the old engine so my truck could run, I ordered this engine as a replacement. Four screws and a cable connector, my 4WD runs like new. Worth every penny.

Good for Ford Ranger 98 with a modification

Perfect fit for 98 Ranger XLT Automatic 4.0 Extended Cab 4x4 This motor has 7 wires in the connector. If your transfer case has a 8th brown wire that goes to the connector, you cannot remove the old wire from the transfer case without cutting that wire. NO. The 8th wire is used to switch the electric synchronization in the transfer case on the go. Not required if you stopped and shifted to neutral while shifting TC. Search the internet for "Ford Ranger 8 Wire Transfer Case Motor" and you will…

This motor originally worked when I replaced the original part.

This motor originally worked when I replaced the original part. Installed it worked perfectly. But I didn't need 4WD until I realized 3 months later that the part had failed. I couldn't put the truck up or down on 4 wheels. This 3 month period exceeded Revain's 30 day return policy. I contacted Cardone directly and they refused to provide any support for this article. My local parts dealers offer a lifetime warranty on this part, but Cardone says it's up to the seller. Ultimately, Cardone…
