Good idea but it doesn't work with the Dometic window awning in my Newmar motorhome. The diameter of the plastic rod that holds the strap in the slot in the awning tube is too large to fit into the cavity in the Dometic awning. The torn bar of the existing floorboard has a smaller diameter.

Straps worked as described. I've learned that the best way to install is to drill a slanted hole in the pulley's groove and push it in. An attempt at fitting as explained by the awning manufacturer and after many attempts to remove the end cap and access the groove was unsuccessful. A corner hole was drilled at the end and it was all done in a few minutes.

When trying to install these awning poles, I found that they have a smaller rubber tube that expands when it's in a Carefree awning is put in. The photo used to visually describe the item shows that the larger piece of rubber tubing is different than what I received. I am also unable to return it as I have looked too long on these items (only 30 days return period) The 27" tents I ordered and set up at the same time were fine. Silvia Rone

This is my third or fourth window sunshade strap replacement. In my opinion, all of these ratchet straps should be the same size. At the same time I have 5 window canopies on the 2017 bus. The original installer placed the support brace in different places, causing some awnings to not open fully and some to open too far.
