You could buy a bag cheaper but make it more durable! Everything from zippers, stitching and material thickness. Not worth it in my opinion, I gave up better backpacks for less money. This is what I work as an elevator mechanic and I just expected more! And I wouldn't recommend it for heavy use.

I use this backpack for everyday work and also for weekend trips. This is the best all-purpose backpack I've had in years. I usually change my backpack every 2 years due to wear and tear or damage. It's hard to find a new one that has plenty of storage/pockets but isn't too big. Very happy with this Carhartt, Legacy Delux. Its sturdy backpack is the perfect size for work/travel and has a high quality finish.

I bought it as a gift for my boyfriend! He needs it for work, he works in site management so he has a laptop and LOTS of other things with him. He likes this bag very much. There is a padded laptop compartment, plenty of small pockets for pens/rulers/utility knives and large document compartments. He can't stop saying how much he loves him! It's also very cool, the bottom is super durable and waterproof (I think) which is great as its sides are usually muddy. Would 100% recommend this backpack!

I really like that this backpack is semi-discreet unlike many modern laptop bags. This basically looks (except for the rectangular shape) like a normal normal backpack. The structure on the inside seems very well placed to protect against most indirect forms of impact, but I put an extra sheet on my 15-inch gaming laptop (and it still barely fits here), only to make sure. This seems to be the best backpack I've ever had! I use it as a pocket for wrenches, hammers and other hand tools. I also carry a side grinder in it every day and the zips have held up great so far, the sturdy base is very handy for construction work. Sturdy material holds up great and still looks brand new, honestly black to hide stains but overall a great durable backpack I've used every day for 2 months as a tool/lunch bag that won't show any signs of wear anytime soon! I have been carrying this bag for 3 1/2 years with very little signs of use. It's lasted about a year over that time so I'd say I've used it daily for about 2 years and it looks great. Use it for work and travel. Plenty of room when you need it, good organization, but don't overdo it with micromanaged pockets. Water bottle pockets fit bottles or power cords.
