The lid doesn't leak very well.

I bought this pitcher and used it the day it accidentally tipped over in my SUV. I had a flood. The lid wasn't supposed to leak, but it did. It speaks of terrible quality control. Also, we bought one called the 5 gallon jug and it's not until you read the fine print that you know it's about 2.5 gallons. It's just corruption. Dishonesty and poor quality, not what I want. We'll send it back. Shameful.

Barbecue coffee in the coffee maker Accessory

Used at a charity barbecue. It's really cool to finally own one of these. Renting one of the coffee beans and tea leaves costs about $70. When I found out about this I decided to just buy one and brew my own coffee. It turned out very well. It will eventually pay off many times over. Easy to clean. Keeps the coffee very hot. Made coffee at 6:30 in the morning and the last cup, drunk at 18:30, was still hot. I'll probably need at least two more. One for hot water and one for decaffeinated…

Keeps you warm but smells and leaks

The water is hot enough. Steam rose after 6+ hours. It has a chemical smell but no taste. I think it's because it's new, but still. I used the o-ring as instructed and didn't overfill it, but when it tips over it starts to leak. Since I didn't fill it to the top I had no problems except when I put it in the car and had to tip it it spilled all over the place. It probably can't hold as much water as advertised because you can't fill it almost to the brim or it becomes dangerous. So, in general…

The practicality of the design gives it an edge over the Cambro.

Our company uses these thermal servers regularly. We have always used the Cambro brand successfully. Now that we've experimented with these Carlisles with Cambro, we can say we prefer Carlisles for a number of reasons. Locks are designed for heavy loads. Cambro buckles break easily. The vent is a very common style that can be swapped out for a water bottle at any store if needed. Volume is a true 5 gallons compared to the comparable Cambro at 4 3/4 gallons. This is good for us as we use them…

Pros
  • Drip Free Service - Spring mixers and o-rings prevent leaks and keep warm
Cons
  • So far so good

There is no quality control. Tired of bad work.

I bought three of these containers, two black and one blue/slate. Lots of reports of leaking pipes so I was on the lookout for problems. Following the instructions, I removed the jets to flush them. The blue had no gaskets or washers. They would all merge. Holes were not machined. Rough surfaces, large chips and production debris around holes. These jagged edges caught the existing washers and unthreaded them from the fittings as they were tightened, leaving gaps for fluid flow. There doesn't…

Pros
  • Easy Transport - ergonomic handles for safe carrying by two people
Cons
  • Without automatic controls

Durability, quality, warmth. All the aces

First off I dumped this bad boy. TWICE! Once empty and once full. It wasn't drops like, "Oh, it's okay." They fell down from the body. Nothing happened to you. The spouts are not broken, the lid is intact, there are no explosions. It was great. Second, this evil Mama Jama kept 5g hot chocolate hot from 3:30am to 2:30pm. 11 hours it was sealed and there was a slight drop in temperature. I'm very impressed. Finally I thought I broke the dull faucet 10 seconds after opening the box. The faucet has
