Did the job for my opinion

Was needing brace to stabilize my thumb and wrist at night during sleep. Felt fine once I got the palm splint in a good spot. After a few days of wearing it my thumb got rubbed raw and it was very painful. Luckily hydrocortisone and a bandaid helped protect the skin. Thumb strap was on correctly and thumb was practically immobilized so I’m not sure why it happened. Still a good product and worth the money. Would recommend cutting the velcro straps accordingly after getting it to a good…

Very helpful for improving De Quervain's

I first purchased this for DeQuervain's, a tendinitis in the wrist. That problem was greatly helped by immobilizing the wrist. I wore this brace during the day on and off (I took it off if my wrist felt sore) and another one at night. This brace kept the thumb in a fairly neutral position; the other brace kept the thumb a little more splayed laterally. I mention this because I think the alternation was important for the healing. De Quervain's is very frustrating, but it can get better!FYI, once

Pros
  • Fits well and does the job. Comfortable enough.
Cons
  • The brace may be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time

Great but thumb piece does hurt

I broke my wrist in two places two months ago, doctor recommended a stable brace, said this one would be good. Initially got a medium due to swelling, was too big but when I reordered the small, it fit really well. I will say the thumb spica is pretty uncomfortable no matter the situation. I couldn’t find one in my size for the correct wrist without the thumb spica but often the stability of the brace worked so well, I was more in pain from the thumb piece cutting in. I’ve over exerted myself a

Best brace! - my new review

I have severe de Quervains and this brace is the only thing that gives me relief from the pain. I am able to sleep with it on throughout the night without pain and wear it throughout the day without pain. This brace is NOT comfortable but it does what it’s suppose to do. This brace does not cure my de Quervains but it relieves my pain. I have bought about 10 different splints before finding this one and this is by far the best one I have found. You can’t beat the price. I have had shots in my…

Pros
  • Good got held all in place, comfortable
Cons
  • It may limit dexterity and range of motion in the hand and wrist

Truly a stable cast for thumb and wrist

I have purchased several splints for my De Quervain's tenosynovitis. This is the best for sleeping or when I don't need to use my hand. It's truly a cast, comes in several sizes for a good fit, and has a built-in compression sleeve! It angles the thumb in so you don't catch it on anything, but unlike other spica splints it holds the thumb nearly rigid. I feel totally safe and protected in this splint.

Pros
  • Supportive as needed
Cons
  • I like product but there are marks on wrist and medial side of hand

Great for Tenosynovitis

I have been having flare up issues with Tenosynovitis or Gamer's thumb and my standard brace (for carpal tunnel) was not effective as it had no thumb stabilization so I purchased the Aircast Brand brace as I am very familiar, and often happy, with their branded products (not to mention cheaper than prescribed braces). I ordered a medium but could have probably fit into a small and did end up cutting off some of the Velcro straps as they were far too long. It does stabilize my wrist and thumb…

Just what I needed! true IMMOBILITY!

Just what I needed! Purchased several wrist splints, and this did the job. Not sure if it was tendonitis, or even simple arthritis, but my left (non-dominent) hand was over worked and other braces were Ok, comfortable, breathable, etc, but found my hand still "working" and not getting the full, true, rest with almost full immobility that I needed. THIS item, lightweight and comfortable, Did it. I had this pain for 2-3mos. And my family doc didn't know what it was. Within a week of full…

Pros
  • ‎Left Hand
Cons
  • The brace may not be effective in reducing pain or promoting healing

I wear this nightly. I even bought another one for work. Its great for stabilizing my thumb to help with De Quervain's tenosynovitis. Just make sure you receive the right one. I've had to send some back as it was the wrong kind or even the wrong hand. Took me 4 tries to get the correct ones.

Pros
  • Features dual removable stabilizers which restricts wrist and thumb movement, yet allows for full finger dexterity
Cons
  • The brace may be too tight and cause discomfort or restrict blood flow

Supportive Wrist Brace

I love the support from this wrist brace. I have really bad carpal tunnel and the wrist braces sold in the stores around me aren't as supportive as this. Most of the braces I've tried used plastic to keep my wrist aligned, this brace uses metal so it doesn't stretch out over time. The three adjustable straps help to ensure this brace stays where it needs to. The velcro is very strong, it was catching on to my blankets and my tops, I took a black sock, but off the bottom and wear it over the…

Very good product at it's price point

Overall, I liked this product. I selected this product to replace a cast for a thumb injury (cut tendon). It kept my thumb immobilized and protected with the necessary wrist constraint until the tendon healed.I would have given this product a five star but I had an issue with the thumb spica stabilizer. The stabilizer is shaped 90 degrees. I did some customization to round out the stabilizer to cradle my thumb. (Not sure why it was designed that way) After that, it was more comfortable and…

Helpful, but needs some improvements

I got this brace to give me support and stability while trying to address my de quervain’s tenosynovitis. I wore it all the time during the day for my first week or so, and have now transitioned to just wearing it while picking up, playing with, or nursing my baby (when I’m most likely to aggravate it).PROS:-good support-decently comfortable (as much as you can expect from a brace, anyway)CONS:-after less than a month of moderate use, the brace support is ripping through the top seam.- the…

OK brace if you modify thumb bracket.

Purchaced two of these. Thumb support bracket needed to be bent because of uncomfort. It was placing the flat metal edge against my round thumb. Bent in to follow thumbs curve (recommend, see pics). Also middle velcro is overwhelming excessive, and a simple velcro strap would work. Shrinks quite a bit when washed, and will cause thumb bracket to poke through the top, and not want to go back. (This was a problem even before modify my thumb bracket). Overall it is a OK brace, not good, not bad…

Extremely Comfortable

This product works just as well as the one prescribed by my doctor that cost me $350. I have arthritis in my hands, particularly in my thumb joints, and this keeps me from having flare ups. I wear them at night while I sleep and it is very comfortable.Highly Recommend

Pros
  • Just like the one I received from the Dr.
Cons
  • Returned, as the fit made it a bit uncomfortable.

Does the job with minimal discomfort

This brace required a bit of tinkering, including removing the bent metal piece along the thumb and inside of my wrist, which was rubbing against a cyst on the outcropping of my radius. This is easily done; it slides out of the sheath enclosing it. With that, the brace worked beautifully. I am on my second brace now (longstanding tendonitis, ugh) and it still conforms helpfully to my wrist. Several velcro straps make it is supremely adjustable for maximum support and comfort. I recommend it.

Pros
  • The brace comes with easy-to-understand instructions, making it simple to use even for beginners
Cons
  • The brace may cause discomfort or irritation during physical therapy or rehabilitation

Metal supporting thumb can and should be adjusted

When I first received this several days ago and put it on, I was screaming inside, disappointed and frustrated because I had been expecting it to be as comfortable as the Aircast without the thumb spica for my right wrist I had used. This version was extremely uncomfortable when I first put it on, around the thumb where the metal was. However I did discover that the metal stay keeping the thumb in place can be removed (as can the volar stay on the palm side of the splint) and you can then bend…

Pros
  • The wrist brace is made from breathable material, reducing moisture and helping to keep the hand dry and comfortable
Cons
  • The brace may interfere with wearing other jewelry or accessories

Works well but started fraying within a couple weeks

After 2 weeks of wearing this at work, the fabric on the palm area started fraying. Still works well though. Not made as well as the one i had 10 years ago though

Pros
  • The Thumb Spica Wrist Brace ensures that the thumb and wrist are in a neutral position, reducing the risk of new injuries
Cons
  • It may be difficult to find a suitable storage case or bag for the brace

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the most comfortable.

The material is a bit scratchy and not as soft as other braces. I found the brace to be less comfortable than others. The extra long straps also get in the way.

Pros
  • Made with durable Breath-O-Prene material for a lightweight, comfortable feel with moisture wicking abilities to help keep you cool during recovery
Cons
  • The brace may be too visible and draw unwanted attention

Please read before you purchase so you won't lose money.

I had a wrist protector before and it was a small size. I bought this one in a small and it was entirely to small. It was painful, uncomfortable and left imprints whenever I took it off. Found out they will only accept the item if it was not worn and unopened. How in the world am I supposed to know if it would fit unless I tried it on? I ordered a medium and it fit better but if I had known that the order couldn't be returned I would not have purchased from them again. Never again! Unless you…

Pros
  • The Thumb Spica Wrist Brace offers excellent quality and value, making it an excellent investment for your health and wellbeing
Cons
  • The brace may cause unnecessary dependence and discourage natural healing and strength-building

Unhappy with the discomfort caused by this brace.

I was extremely disappointed with the Aircast A2 Wrist Support Brace with Thumb Spica. The brace did not provide the support I needed for my wrist injury and the thumb spica caused discomfort and made it difficult to use my hand. The material of the brace also felt cheap and flimsy. I do not recommend this product.

Pros
  • ‎11.42 x 4.06 x 2.17 inches
Cons
  • It may take time to get used to wearing the brace

OK for bilateral postoperative

Could be how ladies with ridiculously long, artificial nails feel when using the toilet. At least the braces come off. Health & Household!

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • It may be too rigid to comfortably move with the natural movements of the hand and wrist
