Review on Thumb Spica Wrist Brace - Aircast A2 Support For Improved Comfort And Stability by Gabe Evans

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Helpful, but needs some improvements

I got this brace to give me support and stability while trying to address my de quervain’s tenosynovitis. I wore it all the time during the day for my first week or so, and have now transitioned to just wearing it while picking up, playing with, or nursing my baby (when I’m most likely to aggravate it).PROS:-good support-decently comfortable (as much as you can expect from a brace, anyway)CONS:-after less than a month of moderate use, the brace support is ripping through the top seam.- the thumb strap Velcro is done strangely. No matter how tight or loose the strap is, there’s no way to wear it without have exposed "hook side” Velcro, which snags and scratches on everything.- it needs to be washed every couple days (because yes, of course it gets stinky when you wear it constantly) but it takes a LONG time to dry (I wring it out as best I can and leave it overnight, but it still isn’t dry until after lunch the next day). Not sure they could have done anything to avoid that, but just be warned that depending on the severity of your injury, you may want two so you can swap them out.

Pros
  • ‎Walking
Cons
  • The brace may be difficult to use with certain types of clothing or accessories
