Microfiber: check.works for the car wash: check.sponge: not very good I still use this product for the car wash but that's mainly because I also am cheap to buy new. It works, it does its job, but there is absolutely no sponge in this product. It's basically a very fashionable thick towel. I'm not sure if it deserves 3 stars. I like 2.5 better. I bought it for the price and for this product it was definitely one of those "you get what you pay for" cases.

I've used it half a dozen times, so now I can tell you about this car wash mat. It contains a lot of soapy water as you go from the bucket to the car. Soft pieces of microfiber appear to pick up dirt without scratching. The back has a rubberized material that prevents it from slipping out of your hand. I like to use this mitt to clean the bottom half of my car while washing, in combination with the Chemical Guys chenille wash mitt. The reason for this is that the back has those squares and a special finish that helps pick up more stubborn dirt, dead bugs and other random crap the car has. Bought to replace a worn glove. I used the glove rather than the pillow just because I don't have to hold on so tight, but that's okay. This pad has a nice soft microfiber side to be gentle on paint and a nylon cleaning side to remove bugs from the windshield and front of the car. I am very satisfied with this product. The microfiber works great and holds some water. The rear does a great job with muddy wheels and wheel arches.
