Ideal for identifying birdhouses.

I bought this for the whole family to watch/identify the birds that come to our feeders and it's great! We have a picture window in the living room overlooking the large deck with 6 feeding stations around the deck. The feeding sites aren't very far away, maybe 20 feet, but with these binoculars we can see details of the birds that make identification easier. Our family of 6 range in age from 14 to 90 and we can all use them without too much trouble. They are very small, light weight and we…

Too small eye relief to be useful

Overall I like the quality of the Carson, but the Scout series compact binoculars leave a lot to be desired. I returned them. The eye relief (and the exit pupil) is too small, so even without glasses you have to almost press your eyeballs on the lenses and crackle your eyelashes, otherwise the picture will not come out as advertised. What good is a wide field of view if you can't get your eyes close enough to see it. (And they're not water and fog proof either, but I wasn't expecting that.)…

Very good, if not perfect.

Very good. It's not ideal. It has pincushion distortion and lower clarity around the perimeter of the field of view. Considering it's 7x, petite size and a very wide field of view, I could live with the cons. I was very much looking for a pair of binoculars with a wide field of view and compact dimensions that I could hold for 2 hours during a football match and I settled on this little wonder. Competitive sports can be very fast on the field and this mini is so light I can use it throughout…

Be realistic about what you expect in terms of size and cost.

The binoculars are really light and small. Measurements are approximately 2 5/8" front to back, 4" side to side fully open, 3 3/8" side to side folded, 1 15/16" tall when folded and the distance measured from the center of both lenses with eyecup sizes 2 1/4 to 2 7/8 inches apart. The binocular body measures approximately 3 1/4" high, 3 3/4" deep and 3 3/4" wide. Binoculars with case are so light it's not worth mentioning. Remember that on the Packaging says it's suitable for ages 13+ Is that…

Decent quality at a low price and tiny size.

Even after reading the dimensions of these binoculars, I was surprised by their size when I found the packaging. These are very small binoculars and they are also very light. They set up fairly quickly and the image is quite good considering the tiny lens and low price. The sharpness in the center of the image is good on both sides of the binoculars, but the edges of the image are slightly blurred on both sides. They are surprisingly bright for such a small lens, color reproduction is fairly…
