Overall I like the quality of the Carson, but the Scout series compact binoculars leave a lot to be desired. I returned them. The eye relief (and the exit pupil) is too small, so even without glasses you have to almost press your eyeballs on the lenses and crackle your eyelashes, otherwise the picture will not come out as advertised. What good is a wide field of view if you can't get your eyes close enough to see it. (And they're not water and fog proof either, but I wasn't expecting that.)…

Very good. It's not ideal. It has pincushion distortion and lower clarity around the perimeter of the field of view. Considering it's 7x, petite size and a very wide field of view, I could live with the cons. Measurements are approximately 2 5/8" front to back, 4" side to side fully open, 3 3/8" side to side folded, 1 15/16" tall when folded and the distance measured from the center of both lenses with eyecup sizes 2 1/4 to 2 7/8 inches apart. Even after reading the dimensions of these binoculars, I was surprised by their size when I found the packaging. These are very small binoculars and they are also very light. They set up fairly quickly and the image is quite good considering the tiny lens and low price. The sharpness in the center of the image is good on both sides of the binoculars, but the edges of the image are slightly blurred on both sides.
