Carter Professional Aluminum Foil Tape Review

I needed a case for my 3D printer. I used some leftover siding insulation material and made the body with duct tape. I used Carter Professional aluminum foil tape to line the inside of the case to provide better thermal insulation and to make the interior appear more finished. The enclosure, lined with aluminum insulating tape, provided a more controlled ambient temperature during the printing process.

Product looks good as described. What I really liked was the customer service. When the product was first delivered to my home I was out of town and the product got lost. The seller emailed me and asked if I liked the product. I mentioned that the item was lost but he didn't have to worry because it wasn't his fault. A few days later the seller sent me a new roll of tape! I will definitely buy again if I need more.

I bought this aluminum tape to secure the connector on my dryer. I had many concerns. Won't the roll of tape become too bulky and difficult for me to get to and behind the dryer for repairs? Won't the heat be too hot and prevent stickiness? And the weird angle, could the tape be too hard to apply and seal the joint? My fears were unfounded. The tape worked great. I wrapped my metal ducts in foil insulation (in the attic) and used this product to seal the seams. In the summer, the outside temperature is 105 degrees, which means that the temperature in the attic is somewhere around 135 degrees. Started early in the morning. Pros: Once installed the tape holds up well - with time and heat we'll see how well it holds up. The 3 inch width is great. Cons: Paper backing does not peel off easily. I ordered a 2" roll 2 weeks earlier and it was so great I decided to order a couple of 3" rolls. When I received it I noticed that it is much thinner than the 2 inch rolls but I had to use it to complete the job. Before I was done it started peeling off the new bladder insulation after a few hours. Do you make a radiant barrier? This is the band you want. Thick. Easy to clean. Easy to place, it's not the super sticky and sticky kind that ruins your day by sticking to everything when you're trying to get into tight gaps. This product is fantastic. I used $8 Nashua rollers and they do a pretty good job of lifting the product and tape it in place. You can create a great radiation barrier with lots of double-sided acrylic tape and foil tape.
