Works as a solution to getting a working car key, but the case is super cheap and trying to press the buttons with your thumbs is next to impossible. The case doesn't seal very well either, there is a big gap at the joint of the case so I'd say this thing will fail within a few months.

After watching a few YouTube videos about replacing the cover, I was able to do it with my bare hands. No grinders etc. I'm a 5ft 4in, 125lb female with weak muscles. I wasn't sure if I could do it on my own, but I did it! I just used pliers to slide the piece of metal back into the plastic slot. And hey presto! Put the battery in and screw it back on and it worked great!

This new case easily attaches to my key and removes "inside". My Toyota FJ Cruiser key had a cracked remote housing which made the key itself wobble and I was concerned that it would eventually detach from the remote and get stuck in the ignition. The only visible difference between this case and my original case is that there is no Toyota badge on the back. Otherwise it is identical and fits great.

The biggest problem with this key fob case is that the buttons are under the front of the case which makes pressing the buttons much more difficult. In terms of assembly, fitting the plastic piece onto the metal key was a bit difficult and required using a small hammer to gently pry it into place. I'm not sure I'll be sending it back but I'll get another one and see if it works better.

My 2003 Lexus SUV key case broke. I only had one car key. I was only able to start my car with pliers by turning the key while holding the broken case with the key fob next to it. I checked with a Lexus dealer. I was forced to buy a key that Lexus would cut if my real key was perfect. The cost would be in the $400 range. Lexus wouldn't just sell without carving a new key. I took a chance ordering this case from Revain because it was so cheap. It turned out to be no worse than the original case.

My first review and I can say this product is AWESOME! I work at an auto parts store and have contacted friends who work at a Lexus dealership and even with my friends discount, a replacement key for my 2000 Lexus Rx300 would cost $225. The local locksmith Smith told me $285 for a replacement key and if you look closely the plastic key on the bottom was just cracked. I happily stumbled across this item when I googled for a cheaper replacement, read the reviews, ordered it and MY GOD it was easy
