Very cheap thin scratchy "cashmere". That's how I got it; frayed cord tied together! It was either sent in this condition or it was returned by an angry buyer. in appearance. But I would never wear it in fall or winter because it's so thin and unreliable. I'm sending it back and looking for something much better quality!

I was hesitant to keep this scarf as it looked a little more casual than I expected. I wanted to wear it to a wedding (with a long dress) when it was chilly in the evening. In the end I needed it and I decided it did the job: it keeps me warm, cashmere is soft and light (doesn't itch) and looks better than anything else I could wear. I now have a nice warm scarf to wear when I need it - expect to be packed to take with me on most if not all future trips.

Having owned cashmere (purchased on sale) for 20 years I consider myself a connoisseur of the fabric. This scarf surprised me. It came in a ziplock plastic bag. The color is much paler than in the photo (blue). It had a slight odor and could not be worn. I gently washed it with shampoo and dried it on a hanger. The cloaks are very good. It's not too long and not too short, which allows me to drape it over my shoulders, drape across my chest, and drape over the opposite shoulder in a nice ponytail. Cashmere is soft. It's knitted, but with a thin weave. I'd call it medium weight so it's not hot but it will keep your shoulders warm on chilly mornings.
