I love everything about these bulbs except they say they're dimmable, which they aren't. I have lights with highs and lows. They work fine in high (normal) mode but don't turn on in low mode. They may be dimmable on a given voltage curve, but not dimmable for my main real world application. One more note: I used 3 of these and 1 flickered and died right after installation.

I bought these to replace burned out 12v/40w halogen lights in my cooker hood. Everything looked great with one of those LEDs and a (working) halogen! However, with all four LED bulbs in the hood, the LEDs flickered noticeably on the "bright" setting and even more so on the "dim" setting. With three of these LEDs and an old halogen bulb, the flickering is barely noticeable, but buying a couple of plain halogen bulbs and throwing away the LEDs for our hood is enough for me. super bright compared to 20w halogen bulbs but they flickered even when not dimmed. (See details below) I was concerned about the thickness of the small lamp but they are no thicker than old lamps and fit very well. I connected them to my Miele hood with three lights and an AC dimmer. A lightbulb or two worked well and the dimmer worked too! But three flicker even at full brightness.
