Great telescope for beginners - a tripod is sufficient.

I really liked this telescope with a few modifications I made. A tripod is difficult to use when viewing planets. I've owned this scope since June 2017. I mounted the scope on a tripod bought used from another location, with a counterweight and better setup. I also replaced the corrective sight with an adjustable green laser pointer made for the pistol. This setting makes aiming much easier. Saturn can be seen with this telescope. The photo was taken with my cell phone with an adapter. The…

Poor customer service

I bought this telescope for my wife's birthday. We put it together and wanted to set up the star pointer sight but found it almost impossible to set up. The only way to achieve an adjustment was to use a screwdriver and wrench, but even that was difficult and inefficient. Without adjustment, you cannot use the pointer to point the telescope to see an object in the night sky. I wrote to the company via the link on their website and asked for a replacement. I received an automated reply that they

Poor customer service

Bought for my 7 year old for Christmas. Upon first use, the Starpointer red dot finder was found not to work. Our first step was to replace the battery and when that didn't fix the problem we found that it was dead. According to Google, we learned that this part "adds point-and-see functionality to any telescope! This red dot finder keeps the sky to the right to match what you see with the naked eye. The adjustable red dot is bright enough to see day or night. "My husband went online and found…

For the price, it deserves a 6-star bonus rating!

It was perfect for our son's birthday. During the summer he became interested in astronomy, so we gave him this telescope (76AZ) for his birthday. We collected it and examined it for half an hour. I saw two comments about legs being too short. They are ADJUSTABLE. You have to stretch your legs. We actually made most of these for the birthday boy since he is small. But we could stand and watch. And yes, we are of average height. If you are unfamiliar with telescopes, you will find it difficult…

A whole new world! for reflectors

Unreal. I have never used a telescope and this one was given to me for my birthday. I looked around and saw all the "I" and "at" in such telescopes. "Don't buy cheap, the mount sucks, the tripod sucks, the way you move it sucks (ALT/AZ) etc." But I've also seen some really good reviews saying how easy it is to use, how good the optics are and that you don't need to collimate it. So I pulled the trigger and CAN NOT BE SATISFIED with this telescope. Seriously, I assembled it in 5 minutes. I've…
