Bought for my 7 year old for Christmas. Upon first use, the Starpointer red dot finder was found not to work. Our first step was to replace the battery and when that didn't fix the problem we found that it was dead. According to Google, we learned that this part "adds point-and-see functionality to any telescope! This red dot finder keeps the sky to the right to match what you see with the naked eye. The adjustable red dot is bright enough to see day or night. "My husband went online and found information that this part often breaks on this particular telescope. I've tried calling support MANY times but I just can't get through to anyone. Although you can purchase a replacement part on their website, you do I am under no obligation to buy it if it breaks!I am very disappointed with this company.
