Great idea, bad design

I really wanted to like this product but it failed miserably because the main screw slides freely through the top and making it impossible to attach them to anything. I must have just received the faulty one as I haven't seen others report this issue. However, the whole construction is not very functional either, it is made of very heavy thick metal, but it has to be clamped onto a thin telescope eyepiece. Also, it's not really designed for today's cameras as I would have to set the height to…

Pros
  • Package dimensions: 12.6 LX 12.0 HX 22.2W (centimeters)
Cons
  • Out of style

If your eyepiece is smaller than your camera lens, you will experience vignetting. Also, I can't take pictures with the 4mm eyepiece. Despite my complaints, I don't see a better choice for my setup. Of course I get better results with a longer telescope with a 32mm eyepiece and 3x Barlow. My setup: - Telescope Celestron 21024 FirstScope (76mm). - Eyepieces 32mm and 17mm. - 2x Barlow. - Casio EX-FH100 10.1MP high. Speed digital camera with 10x ultra wide-angle zoom. Tips: - First find a point in

Pros
  • Compatible with most point-and-shoot digital cameras with a tripod mount
Cons
  • Some minor things

It has a wide range of settings so it should be suitable for a wide range of cameras. Works very well. I had to experiment to find the best mounting position and recording method. I use a heavy bow video tripod, which works well for this setup. A lighter tripod will not work, as there is a lot of vibration at high magnification. Here is the method that works best for my…
