Perfect for use with Apple TV 4k and the Spectrum app

I love the Apple TV streaming device but hate the Apple remote that comes with it. The Apple remote was particularly bad for navigating the Spectrum TV Cloud DVR. I've tried GE and Inteset remotes but both were clunky in different ways. I ended up paying a little more and buying the Channel Master. Apple should have shipped that with the Apple TV. It worked great with Apple TV, Samsung TV and Samsung sound system. Navigation is similar to the Apple remote except it has buttons. The keys are…

Stupid choice of buttons for Apple TV 4k

If you're building this specifically for the Apple TV, why include the channel up and down buttons? They do absolutely nothing (at least on 4k). And why not include buttons to skip back to the beginning and skip to the next track? The Apple TV supports these buttons (at least for the IR remotes you're learning; not sure if the native ATV remote supports them). it would be much more useful if he could do that. Finally, I don't know what witchcraft they had to do for that IR remote to control the

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Will do

This is a well-designed remote, but its weight makes it feel like a quality remote. If it really worked as advertised, it would make a great replacement for the AppleTV remote(s). I love Apple products, but as we all know, the remote control (in all its versions) still sucks. I have a 4K and the latest Apple remotes (ordered extra as I thought it would be a big improvement over the much despised trackpad-only version at my house, but the new one still mostly sucks). Anyway, back to CHANNEL…

Great replacement for the Apple TV+ remote with very few caveats

The remote worked straight away with the Apple TV - the four arrow cursors around the OK button work much better than the Apple Touch Bar and the OK button much more reliable and predictable than clicking the touchpad. The Touchpad Remote also has forward and backward buttons that perform 15 second forward and 15 second backward functions. And there is a MUTE button! Hooray! Best of all, the remote control is big enough not to fall through the cracks in the sofa cushions and slide onto the…

Works well but has issues

We bought this remote for our 90 year old mother as the whole swiping process is a bit her fingers are difficult. This remote does the job well and she prefers to use it instead of the original AppleTV remote. However, there are a few downsides that really detract from it. The remote control cannot turn on the ATV when it is sleeping. You still need the Original.2 (at least for my ATV). It couldn't figure out the code for my Sony TV, so it can't control it, meaning the volume and mute buttons…

Pros
  • Controls volume up/down, on/off functions on most standard TVs or soundbars
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Remote worked properly with Apple TV out of the box - four cursors, the arrows around the OK button work much better than the Apple Touch Bar, and the OK button is much more reliable and predictable than tapping the Touch Bar. The Touchpad Remote also has forward and backward buttons that perform the "15 Skip Seconds" and "Skip Back 15 Seconds". And there is a MUTE button! Hooray! Best of all, the remote control is big enough not to fall through the cracks in the sofa cushions and slide onto…

Great replacement for $&$*@ Apple TV Siri Remote

Apple TV is a great product with an absolute worst remote. The Channel Master Simple Remote has traditional buttons and works reliably and predictably (you don't have to spend half your time closing the audio menu if you're just trying to skip through a video). and handy size. I wouldn't mind if it was a bit thinner but no complaints. While it's not designed specifically for the AppleTV, it does have a nice, distinctive menu button that's really useful. A number of reviews state that they were…
