Ordered November 2019. I've used it maybe 5 times since then. Used it last night and it was hard between 275-300 degrees. Thrown in fried shrimp and the temp rose to 425 and two other thermometers confirmed it was over 400. Scraped off the hot fat and threw it in the bin. I will not buy again.

PERFECT, LOVE IT, WELL MADE AND EASY TO ATTACH TO ANY POT ETC. TO FIX. I bought this pen to REPLACE an expensive digital pen that broke/ stopped working and the pen fell apart after the second use. Since I use this at least once a week I need reliability and it IS!

has worked great with my 10 liter Lodge pan when frying is held at an angle for proper temperature control. The only problem is the basket I have gets in the way so I just have to move the temp guard a bit which isn't really a problem but is worth mentioning for some people.

Good idea, but the temperature was high while frying fries in a frying pan with oil. I tried again and the same temp swings. Fried chicken makes you forget it. The aerodynamics of the thermometer were great, it flew straight into the trash can.
