Much better than the new Magellan mount

Very glad I found the original Magellan GPS suction cup. This works much better than the redesigned mount on the newer Magellans. I have no idea why they changed it; Why fix something that isn't broken?!? A problem with all of this is that the suction cup weakens over time and pops out from time to time. Yes, we still use GPS instead of our cell phones. When we travel, I load several addresses into the navigation system for all destinations – hotels, restaurants, shops. Saves a lot of…

Safe driving: car mounts

Ordered for a family member. Her original device broke shortly after purchase and she had to hold the GPS on her lap or place it on the center console of the car. It is very dangerous to look down at directions while driving. I searched Revain and after comparing the items available with their GPS we found the perfect match. She is very happy! She was in a few stores asking for a replacement but no one would take the time to help her. Thanks to Revain, she now drives safely. We were both happy…

Very disappointed. Not only did this article not work on mine.

VERY disappointed. Not only did this item not work with my Megellan GPS, it also broke my charger! The part that was supposed to hold the GPS wasn't in the middle like my original mount that came with my device but on the side that wasn't holding the GPS properly so the charger flexed. I used it on vacation and after about 30 minutes when I noticed the charging part flexing I removed this bracket. Unfortunately, by then he had bent part of the charger. I was able to bend it, but now it doesn't…

Not as good as the original

The suction cup on the original mount cracked and fell apart so I bought this as a replacement. Pros: The suction cup is strong and secure and seems to last a long time. The bad: The original had a threaded yoke that tightened around the mount ball that held the mount in place — this one has just one ball that locks in place. Hit a bump and the GPS flops. It might work if you set it low enough for the floor to rest on the dash, but otherwise it's too loose. The original had the ability to lock…

Solid replacement windshield mount

I've had a GPS (dinosaurs by today's standards) for about three years. The original mount that I bought with the device is worn out. The ball and socket failed to hold up as the rubber around the ball entering the sockets began to break. I ended up using rubber bands to attach the GPS to the windshield mount, which was pretty much useless. It's time to upgrade to a new GPS or buy a new window mount. It cost $150 to buy a comparable GPS, so I opted for a window mount. I've only had this mount…
