This is very useful and effective. Got one as a gift for my sister as she had a similar problem with trimming the wicks in deeper candle jars. It catches cut wicks well. Now I feel like I can't live without her!

This is my first wick trimmer. I bought these because of the price. I just used it on a candle in a jar and it seems to do the job! I don't know how other wick trimmers are set up, but I think it would be better if the handle angle was closer to 90 degrees as it would be easier to get a good cut moving further down. As now I have to cut the wick at an angle.

For the price you don't expect such good quality, but the wick trimmer is very durable. It's heavier than you'd expect, which leads me to believe it'll last a long time. It's long enough to fit in a deep candle jar and neatly trims the wick to just the right length. The mechanism works well and cuts through with no problems. Wicks, it also catches the cut piece so you can throw it away and not leave it at the bottom of the candle. The wick trimmer also looks good and looks good next to a candle

Beautifully made - all parts and joints line up correctly but most importantly the blades are sharp. Made of "heavy" (?) metal with paisley engraving and the words "Jolly Giver" on both top handles. I've been using it daily for about a year - the blades are still as sharp as new. But I find it mandatory to clean the blades with a tissue after each use and store them in the box - to prevent oxidation/rusting?
