Precision Slicing Made Easy: Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer with Accurate Size Scale & 5 Replaceable Wires Review

This is the most unique cheese slicer I have ever seen. When my wife saw it she thought I was crazy. Too large. Until I showed her how to make perfect slices no matter how thick you want them to be. Easy to clean. After using this I think it's impossible to ever go back to the old type of slicer.

Despite the description, it does not work with hard cheese at all. For example, it doesn't work with aged parmesan. Plus, the smooth, easy-to-clean stainless steel surface lets cheese/butter glide while you wire-cut. You need to gently push the object with your hand to counteract the force of the wire pushing the object outward as the wire is lowered. A rougher surface would be a better choice.

Slicing cheese with wire is the only way out and this slicer comes with interchangeable wires which makes it awesome. Stainless steel is easy to clean and the overall product is very durable. Don't be fooled by "lines" for cutting, unless you're looking for 1/2" thick slices! But the lines come in handy for keeping the block square on the board. This slicer corresponds to the description but is missing here. I tested it with a small block of regular medium cheddar cheese. 1) it's too light. You have to hold it with one hand while you cut the cheese, 2) the wire is too thick. He cuts through the cheese like a chainsaw, leaving tiny pips on the counter below him. Cord length 5 inches with no ends. Both ends of the cable are the same. They're like little strands of wire. If you can find a replacement cable that fits the Revain please give me a link. it comes with five wires, I expect to end up needing more. They always break sooner or later, don't they?
